The Hot Box Expands to Vancouver

Kelowna’s beloved hot yoga studio The Hot Box Yoga is expanding to the big city. With classes practically overflowing in Kelowna the time for expansion is now. The studio’s Heated Vinayasa Flow style of yoga, set to upbeat modern music in a high energy environment, has been a huge hit in K-town. It’s “an incredible location and UBC is practically rolling out the red carpet for us” says Sarah Wolton co-owner of the growing company. The community of Wesbrook Village is much needed infrastructure for Canada’s largest and most heavily populated campus that is essentially it’s own City on the tip of the West Point Grey peninsula, now complete with a Save-on-Foods & BC liquor store. Co-owner Chris Bedford calls it “An opportunity to create a yoga ‘pipeline’ with workshops and instructors flowing back and forth essentially connecting the two cities”. Pass holders also have the option of both locations using just ‘one pass’, an exciting perk considering the price of hot yoga on the coast. “We took possession and the build commenced Feb 1, with a tentative opening date May 1″ says Wolton. Sarah and Chris started The Hot Box after moving from Calgary 2 years ago. “It’s a dream come true and we will continue to grow our community and spread the love” says Bedford. Kristi Taylor will be moving into a core position with the company while Sarah and Chris focus on the opening. “As ‘Community Leader’, Kristi will continue to instill our high level of customer service and excellence of instruction when we are busy commuting between the two cities.” Anna Hall will take the position of ‘Key Leader/General Manager’ looking after the day to day operations in their temporary absence. “Kristi and Anna are both highly devoted to our growing company and we are so grateful!”
